Midland Care PACE Receives $1 Million Grant for Outreach and Engagement
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has awarded a $1,000,000 joint grant to Midland Care PACE in Topeka, Ascension Living HOPE in Wichita, and Bluestem PACE in McPherson. This funding, provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) 9817, is dedicated to increasing awareness and education about the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The grant period extends from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.
The PACE program is a Medicare and Medicaid initiative designed to help individuals meet their healthcare needs while continuing to live in their homes and communities rather than entering nursing homes or other care facilities. Participants benefit from a dedicated team of health professionals who work together to coordinate comprehensive medical care, rehabilitation, and social activities. A PACE Center is a central hub for these services, providing a welcoming space for participants to receive care and connect with others.
Midland Care's PACE program exemplifies this mission by delivering personalized care plans tailored to each participant's health goals. A collaborative team of experienced doctors, nurses, and other health professionals develops and implements these plans, ensuring participants receive the support they need to thrive in their communities.
With this funding, the three PACE organizations aim to:
Enhance community engagement through targeted outreach initiatives.
Increase education about PACE services for potential participants, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
Expand access to resources that help older adults remain in their homes and independent.
Midland Care remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting older adults and their families by offering comprehensive, compassionate care. This grant provides an opportunity to deepen that commitment and reach more individuals in need across Kansas.
Midland Care PACE delivers holistic health services to older adults across 15 Kansas counties. Using a team-based approach, PACE integrates medical care, rehabilitation, and social support to help participants live safely and independently in their communities. With Centers in Topeka, Lawrence, Emporia, and Kansas City—and a new 22,000-square-foot facility set to open in Olathe in 2025—PACE stands as a leader in comprehensive senior care.
