Stormont Vail Health Acquires Capitol Tower for Administrative Center
Stormont Vail Health has completed the acquisition of a downtown Topeka building, which it plans to convert into a location for administrative and support services. There are no plans to offer clinical services in the facility.
The building at S.W. 8th and Harrison formerly housed offices for Colgate Palmolive/Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
The new home of the Stormont Vail Health Administrative Center is a seven-story, single-tenant office space that contains 143,934-square-feet. It was built in 1983. Adjacent to the building are 300 covered parking spaces.
A number of Stormont Vail’s operational support departments will move into the building over a phased process through 2024.
“The addition of this office building provides us the opportunity to bring together departments that support our clinical operations into one location from multiple buildings,” said Dr. Rob Kenagy, President and Chief Executive Officer, Stormont Vail Health. “We had been considering the benefits of a service center when this building became available and fit our needs. It will provide space for administrative functions, and in turn, by relocating some of those operations, will open up needed space for clinical areas.”
Capitol Tower is at the northwest corner of S.W. 8th and Harrison, across the street from the Kansas Capitol.
