Free Night At Topeka Zoo: “Superpower Night - Be A Hero” On June 7th
The Topeka Zoo is proud to announce an exciting and charitable event, “Superpower Night - Be a Hero,” is scheduled for June 7th, 2024. This special evening offers free admission to the zoo from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, inviting the community to come together for a fun-filled experience while making a difference in the fight against hunger. While you use your “Superpowers” to help those with food insecurities by contributing a non-perishable item in exchange for your ticket it is a wonderful time to enjoy, Sean Kenney’s Animal Superpowers made with LEGO® bricks, presented by Giant Communications.
In partnership with Project Topeka, the Zoo is encouraging guests to become heroes in their community by bringing a non-perishable food item per person in their group. These donations will be collected on-site throughout the evening, with the goal of combating hunger and supporting those in need.
“We are thrilled to host ‘Superpower Night - Be a Hero’ at the Topeka Zoo,” said Fawn Moser, Deputy Director. “This event not only provides an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a memorable night at the zoo but by helping those facing food insecurities to worry less about their next meal or how to feed their family, we help open up opportunities for increased empathy for nature and the environment. If an individual or family are experiencing hunger or food insecurity, that’s the challenge on their mind, not conservation issues.”
From exploring the wonders of the animal kingdom to discovering their own superpowers in the fight against hunger, attendees of all ages are sure to have a fantastic time.
