Hayden Catholic High School Announces Boys Basketball Coach
Hayden Catholic High School is pleased to announce Dwayne Anthony has been named the Varsity Boys Head Basketball Coach. Coach Anthony comes from Topeka West High School where he served as the Boys Assistant Basketball Coach from 2018-2024.
Coach Anthony completed his collegiate basketball career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2000 after playing for Wichita State in 1996-97. He led the team to the Elite Eight his senior year at IUP. He earned a bachelor degree in Communications and Mass Media.
He played Semi-Pro basketball with the Harlem Legends from 2000-2005. The Harlem Legends, known for their entertaining and high-caliber performances, have a legacy of promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement.
Coach Anthony currently serves as the Associate Vice President of SparkWheel, a regional non profit serving 72 schools in four states.
Principal James Sandstrom is excited to have Coach Anthony lead the boys basketball program. “Coach Anthony is thrilled to have the opportunity to lead our young men and become part of the Hayden community. We value his energy and experience and look forward to him upholding the proud tradition of our basketball program.”
