Advisors Excel Employees Volunteer to Mentor Kansas Kids

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters partnered with Advisors Excel and 12 of their employees to provide one-to-one mentoring on-site at Advisors Excel. Students who attend the Highland Park Central after-school enrichment program, FEATS, have been matched with an Advisors Excel employee based upon the interests and personalities of both the student and mentor. Students will go to Advisors Excel weekly to meet with their mentors focusing on activities that are educational and skill-building.

The purpose of the Corporate Bigs program is to expose students to careers that they otherwise may not know existed, and to reinforce the importance of academics, vocational and social development.

Lindsay Freeman, Community Engagement Coordinator at Advisors Excel states, “We are thrilled about our partnership with Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters and the opportunity to offer our employees this meaningful volunteer opportunity, as well as, share our excitement of our workplace with the youth in our community.”

The Advisors Excel Corporate Bigs will make a significant, positive impact on a child’s life by volunteering as little as one hour of their time per week. Advisors Excel’s support, along with numerous others, allows KSBBBS to expand its reach and serve more youth facing adversity.
