BetterU Challenge: PATTY LANUM

Start with one small change a week. You have to “make an appointment” to exercise, otherwise you will find excuses not to. It’s not easy but you can do it. Keep moving and drink lots of water.

Success with BetterU
My blood pressure has lowered, my cholesterol is better, I have lost about 10 lbs, and my doctor has lowered my thyroid medicines.

I was able to complete a 5K run after not running for a year, and my family is eating healthier.

Challenges Overcame
Trying to make a change is always difficult. I tried to make a change every week in my meals and tried to add 30 minutes of walking and two days of weights. I failed several times due to letting life get in the way. But kept getting back on track.

Favorite Part of BetterU
Visiting with the dietician was very informative and helped motivate met to try new foods.

Biggest Obstacle
Change the way I eat and making myself move.

Inspiration for Others
It’s not easy and if you fail at something, don’t give up, keep trying. It’s worth it in the end.
