Fast Forward hosts ForgeFest
The organization is coordinating ForgeFest, a night of live music and entertainment in downtown Topeka on October 21. The purpose of the event is to provide free entertainment while spreading awareness and interest in the new look and purpose behind Topeka’s young professional network. “Hembree”, a band based out of Kansas City, will headline the show with local band “Toughies” kicking starting off at 6:30 p.m. and Topeka native Brail Watson starting at 5:30 p.m. The official brand reveal will occur between acts.
The event will utilize Jackson street next to the Capitol and feature a variety of vendors, including food trucks and beer gardens sponsored by the Celtic Fox & Strathman Sales. Food trucks will start serving food at 5 p.m. with opening band Toughies performing at 6:30 p.m. Headliner “Hembree” will perform at 7:30.
The stage will be set up at the intersection of 9th and Jackson, in front of the capital building. Everyone is invited and is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, or stand on Capitol grounds to enjoy the free entertainment.
The concert will likely be the first of many events hosted by Fast Forward geared toward providing entertainment and opportunities for young people in Topeka to connect with one another. Fast Forward’s mission is to attract and retain young talent in the Greater Topeka area while developing the next generation of leaders.
