Michael T. Wilson, AIA, the founding partner of Architect One, announces that Scott E. Gales, AIA is the new president of the 27-year-old northeast Kansas architectural design firm.
“Scott joined me at Architect One in 1993 and together we have grown it into one of the leading design firms in Northeast Kansas,” says Wilson. “As the founding partner, I will continue to be involved in client development and project
management, as well as providing Scott with support in the vision and guidance of Architect One. Scott has had a key role in the success and growth of our company and is well suited to his new responsibility in leading Architect One into the future.”
Architect One has grown and expanded in the last few years, including the acquisition and remodel of its building at 906 S Kansas Avenue in downtown Topeka, Kansas. Gales’ new role as President and the firm’s new downtown presence are part of a long term vision to ensure Architect One’s success into the future.
As part of the changes in leadership, long time staff members Andrew Wiechen and Cassandra Taylor have become stockholders in the firm.

Wilson founded Architect One in 1988. The firm has been instrumental in planning and designing hundreds of successful projects in Topeka and northeast Kansas including: The Kansas Avenue project in Downtown Topeka, Heritage Bank, Valeo Crisis Center, Fellowship Bible Church, Topeka Bible Church and numerous projects for Topeka USD 501 and Westar Energy.
