New NOTO Business Offering Adventure and Escape
Located directly above Amused Art Gallery and Gift Shop at 907 North Kansas, NOTO Escapes offers a new social activity for NOTO visitors. A ribbon cutting is planned for June 7, more information to come.
Participants receive a narrative and adventure objective before being shut in a room for fifteen minutes to one hour. Using elements and clues throughout the room, participants attempt to solve a series of puzzles and riddles, discovering keys and combinations to ultimately complete the adventure objective and escape the room. On opening night, NOTO Escapes will premiere a fifteen-minute art-themed escape room. Two additional full hour rooms are planned.
Owners Kelly Gerhardt and Nena Hug, are motivated by being a part of the revitalization effort in Topeka and participating in First Friday Art Walks. The owners are excited to be coordinating with other NOTO business owners in bringing additional activities to the arts district.
“An escape room is an unconventional night out” said co-owner Kelly Gerhardt, “participants get to escape everyday life and get the thrill of living in a mystery adventure for a short time.”
Cost for a fifteen-minute room is $10 per person. A minimum of two people in a room is required, with a maximum of six. Private and special event pricing is available.
