Stormont Vail Health Earns National Recognition for Providing High-Quality Stroke Care
The American Heart Association has awarded Stormont Vail Health the Get With The Guidelines®—Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement. This award recognizes Stormont Vail's dedication to providing stroke patients with top-notch treatment based on national guidelines, saving more lives, and reducing disability.
Stroke is a major cause of death and disability in the U.S., which highlights the importance of early detection and treatment. The Get With The Guidelines-Stroke program equips hospitals with tools to enhance stroke care, ultimately reducing the long-term impact of strokes and improving patient outcomes.

To qualify for this program, Stormont Vail must demonstrate its commitment to quality care for stroke patients each year. These criteria include fulfilling specific quality benchmarks for diagnosing and treating stroke patients, ensuring that medications and other treatments adhere to the latest evidence-based guidelines, and educating patients on managing their health and recovery at home.
Additionally, Stormont Vail has earned the Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite award for providing prompt and efficient care that enhances stroke patients' chances of survival and recovery. It also received the Target: Type 2 DiabetesTM Honor Roll award for ensuring access to evidence-based care for hospitalized stroke patients with Type 2 diabetes.
